Bryan Day

Bryan Day, MPA

Bryan Day is among Arkansas’ most notable community leaders. The UA Little Rock double-alumnus currently is executive director of the Little Rock Port Authority, where his work to foster economic development and recruit new industry to the capital city continues to flourish. Day credits the success of his career in public service to his professors and his experience in UA Little Rock’s Master of Public Administration program.

“If it were not for the education I received, and the personal and professional network that I built while attending UA Little Rock, I would not be where I am today,” said Day. “As an adjunct professor, I hope I can create the same opportunities for students that were created for me.”

After serving as an adjunct professor in the MPA program for five years, Day established a scholarship for those graduate students. He also designated an estate gift in support of the scholarship in his name to further enhance the amount of support MPA students receive in the future.

“My hope is that my gifts and gifts from others will continue to help students build a foundation for careers in public service. Public service is a noble profession and we need young people to choose that path so we can continue to build strong and vibrant communities,” he said.

“I am always amazed and inspired by the students in the classroom. It gives me hope for the future and I am proud to be a part of that.”
